The YL and I both had trouble sleeping last night. As a result of finally drifting off at 3AM, we didn't rise until nearly 11AM. Very late, for us.
I had the station still on the table in the main room from the day before and decided to see if anyone was on 17M.
I heard a very weak signal from 6W/HA0NAR in Senegal calling CQ. Had to repeat my call but he did come back to me.
So, from this location and with antenna, such as it is, facing south, I have worked, 6W/HA0NAR, 5X8C, and 4Z5AD. I am pretty satisfied with those contacts. Still 3/4 watts from the FT-817 and some wire, most of it on the 1st floor small balcony. Results to the north have been poor.
I see one of the big CW contests is this weekend. so to those participating, good luck and have fun.

Good evening Dick, now and then it's good to get some extra sleep....well I guess with getting to sleep at 3am there was not to much extra sleep to be had. Great work getting the contact!! The contest is going great I have been able to make most contacts with QRPp power.

Hi Mike, hope you had a good contest weekend. I had planned on participating but can't get the wire to load on 20M.
RépondreSupprimerOver the years, sleep has become more more difficult for me. Not the YL, usually.

Hi Dick. Glad to know that there are still surprises in the aether, even with partial antennas and low-power. Hope you are enjoying your journey. Spring is just around the corner!
